Our penultimate day in Lincolnshire – this time at St Hughs C of E Mathematics and Computing College in Grantham.
The school have been remodeling and rebuilding, looking at how to make learning more personally engaging. Their work with CP focused on the English department. Pupils have had a real hand in planning and designing the new spaces, we met with 5 of them to find out how.

Tinino, Johnathan, Sean, Jake and Jessica gave us a guided tour of their new English block and talked us through all the 3D drawings, the furniture, the paint on the walls, explaining their choices and exactly how and why the ideas developed. We learned a lot about what makes a classroom work, and how important it is that pupils have some control about the spaces they learn in.
As well as filming interviews we made some quick animations – they might not make it into the final film but it was a good way to get more relaxed about speaking in front of the camera.
Stay tuned for the finished interviews – thanks to all the pupils for talking so openly and intelligently with us, and thank you to Mrs Bennett for all your help and dealing with our unexpected arrival!

Hi Jess. Thanks for looking at the blog and commenting. We’re glad you had a good time, we did too! It was lots of fun, and at the same time you all said some really interesting and inspiring stuff (you also did a great job at zooming around on chairs!)

Fun definitely had by all at St Hugh’s! So sorry I couldn’t join in the fun…next time
So pleased that I finally get to see some of the hard work I have heard so much about from Miss Bennett and your Creative Agent, David.
I would like to congratulate you Jessica for been the first pupil to share your reflections on the workshop today on the blog…please tell your friends as we would love to hear from them too.
Have you had a lesson in the new spaces you created yet? Was it different and how?

What an ace bit of film. Well done St Hughs for helping Carly and Martin. I had a chair like that once – I could never find it!
Hope the new space works out for you. David (Creative Agent)
